Attendees who plan to attend the dinner on September 6 are particularly requested to register via the registration webpage, to help us plan the activities better.

Symposium location: The symposium program on September 7 will be held in room B02 of the Coordinated Science Laboratory (CSL) in the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The street address for CSL is 1308 West Main Street, Urbana, IL 61801. CSL is located near the intersection of University Avenue and Mathews in Urbana, Illinois. For directions to CSL, click here.

Hotel: Some rooms have been blocked at Hampton Inn, Urbana, Illinois for the symposium attendees. To receive the rate of $89/night+tax, please call Hampton Inn, Urbana early at 217-337-1100 to make your reservation, and ask for the ICWS Workshop rate. This rate may not be available for reservations made after August 14, 2007.

Airport: Champaign-Urbana airport code is CMI, and the airport is presently served by American Airlines (via Chicago and Dallas) and Northwest Airlines (via Detroit). Other airports in the vicinity include Bloomington, Illinois (airport code BMI) at approximately 50 miles, Indianapolis, Indiana at approximately 120 miles, Chicago O'Hare at approximately 155 miles, and Chicago Midway at approximately 140 miles.

Parking: Note that CSL is within a short walk from the Hampton Inn, Urbana and Illini Union Hotel, Urbana. Parking garage B4 (near the intersection of University Avenue and Mathews) provides many paid parking spaces on the first few floors of the garage (coins required for the parking meters). A small number of paid parking spaces (coins required) are also available in the parking lot to the right (east) of the Beckman Institute (shown in yellow near the top of the map). CSL is the building numbered 148 in the map (near the Beckman Institute, and to the south of the Beckman Institute).

The symposium organizers will make available several full-day parking permits to the attendees on a first-come-first-served basis. These can be picked up at the registration desk in room B02 CSL. The full-day permits may be used at metered parking spaces owned by University of Illinois (these meters will have a block letter I on them).

The full-day parking permits can also be purchased at the UIUC Parking office at 1110 W. Springfield (corner of Springfield and Goodwin), Public Safety Building, 2nd Floor, Urbana, during business hours (8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday). This office is at approximately half mile from CSL and Hampton Inn-Urbana.

Public transport in Champaign-Urbana: CUMTD (Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District) provides bus service in the Champaign-Urbana area. Areas close to the UIUC campus tend to have more frequent bus service.
