Illinois Center for Wireless Systems Undergraduate Research Support http://www.icws.uiuc.edu Illinois Center for Wireless Systems (ICWS) at UIUC invites applications for undergraduate research support during 2007-2008 academic year. This support is available due to a grant from Rockwell Collins. Students from engineering departments with research interests in wireless and mobile systems (including applications, networking protocols, communications, antennas, hardware, etc.) are encouraged to apply. Funding: Each selected undergraduate student will be provided with support for up to 160 hours of work, at the rate of approximately $12/hour. The work will have to be supervised by a UIUC faculty member, who will also have to approve the time-sheets for the work performed. The applicant may want to inform the faculty member that ICWS will also make available to the faculty additional $500 to cover costs associated with the project, if requested. Eligibility: Candidates must be JUNIOR or SENIOR undergraduate students enrolled in good standing at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Criteria: Applicants will be judged on their record of academic achievement and on their demonstrated and proposed commitment to research in the field of wireless communications. Prior to submitting the application, each candidate is required to find a faculty member in the College of Engineering with interests in wireless systems to supervise their research.
